Gerry, Judith and Emily have been involved in
some form of traditional dancing for a number of years,
Gerry mainly with Sheffield City Morris and Grenoside
Sword Dancers
but now also with the Sheffield City Giants.
This was my first attempt
at a web site and I realise that in content
and technique, even by my standards, it's now pretty old hat!
Perhaps I'll get round to improvements sooner or later.

| Judith has danced with
Yorkshire Chandelier, Sheffield Celebrated Clog Dancers
and latterly was a founder member of Lizzie Dripping Women's
Dance Team, although she is presently on a sabbatical. Her current
dance interests include Irish Set Dancing and International Folk Dance
but she has now turned to singing as a member of The Sheffield Folk
Chorale.

Emily has performed Irish display
dancing since she was five, her first stage appearance being in Quito,
Ecuador.
This picture was taken during Sheffield Irish Week at an event at Sheaf Quays. Emily is on the left. Emily and fellow Irish Dancers - mostly daughters of Sheffield City Morris - form a small display team of Irish Dancers known as Sciorr. In 2003 they danced at Holmfirth and Otley Folk Festivals and are already booked for Holmfirth in 2004. |
| Traditional dancing
has not rubbed off on Joe - something to do with being scared by the
Morris horse at an early age! - but he has been convinced of the
superiority of traditional beer.

| In 2003 Joe obtained his B.A. Degree in Archaeology and Prehistory at the University of Sheffield . In 2004 he hopes to further his education by staudying for an M.A. in Archaeological Heritage Management at York. | |
